If you’re one of the folks who hasn’t yet heard the great news, my husband Andrew and I are adopting a baby from Vietnam.

(Pause here to do a little baby dance!!!)

We’ve been working on this for a good while now and got our referral on February 29 (which means that our adoption agency and the folks in Vietnam matched us with our daughter; on February 29, we received a photograph of our girl, as well as some medical information). She is a beautiful, amazing little nugget of heaven.

We call her (for the moment anyway) Coffeecake. One of my nephews thought up this nickname, and it seems to be sticking. Good alliteration, too: Coffeecake O’Keeffe.

Now that we’re getting closer to being able to travel to Vietnam to bring our girl home, I figure it’s time to start blogging about this new adventure.

And on we go....
