Tulliver’s Travels:
In Wonder and Awe...
Time is turning into an even funnier animal than it usually is. Usually, it has pink spots, a vine-like neck, and a pale horn. Usually, I’m unable to keep sight of it in the distance as it runs faster and faster...nothing more than hoofs and poofy tail...gaining ground with every step.
But now it has green and pink spots. Its vine-like neck has quadrupled in length, and its horn...well, its horn has been polished to a shiny silver. And of course, the only thing I can see in the distance is the glint of the silver horn when it passes under the moon and sun.
Time is going so fast. Tomorrow we’ll have been Tulliver’s mom and dad for three weeks. Three beautiful, astounding, cell-altering weeks.
And my cells have been altered...they have morphed and shifted around her center.
I watch her blink, scratch her foot, stick out her tongue, push out her belly, and I’m in love. Every movement brings us closer.
And how much change she’s experienced in three weeks...what must be going on in that brain of hers. New parents, new country, new language, new music, new faces, new routine...more, more, more of everything. Love, love, love into her in every second.
She smiles at it all.
